About Bison Island Ranch

 Established in 2011, Bison Island Ranch is a working grass-fed and finished Bison Ranch in Upstate New York. The focus is on raising happy, healthy bison to provide a high-quality, nutrient-dense, grass-finished product using regenerative agricultural practices. The Ranch sits on nearly 200 acres in Central NY. 

The Ranch was started by Dr. Susan Golembeski, aka “Susie Bison”, as a passion and transition from corporate healthcare. Working with Mother Nature and the bison to be a “steward of the land” has been a labor of love.

Hay for the grass-fed and finished bison is made directly on the Ranch to ensure consistent, quality winter feed. The Ranch includes aspects of agritourism, education, an on-site ranch store, e- commerce through the online store. In addition to grass-finished meat, there is a bison wellness line, pet treats, artwork, and a full line of skin care products under the Ranch’s new brand - “Beauty & The Bison”! The grass-finished tallow used in the skin care products is rendered in-house, in small batches, from our own bison to ensure quality & safety.
